It seems everyone is going on and on about how to get cheap flights and the best deals from the airlines. The emphasis is firmly on the means to getting these cheap flight tickets. Funny though, most people are doing things wrong. I mean, if people were getting it right, how come there are so many complaints and angry customers? Personally, I believe that a lot of people are been fed the wrong information such that they take the wrong turns when scouting for the elusive cheapest flight tickets. Well, it seems to me that there are some things that travelers need to know about cheap flight to Europe that do not work. In other words, the things they shouldn’t do when looking for means of getting cheapest airfare for their travels.
i. Avoid The Hype: There is far too much hype out there today with regards the issue of  cheap flight tickets. Personally, I find it a bit irritating because it has also become an avenue for people to get duped as many fake sites are taking advantage of unwary passengers. So, first things first, dump the hype and use your native intelligence to seek out the nice deals that can fetch you cheap holidays.
ii. Get Impatient: This is one of the most effective ways of missing out on a great deal. When you are impatient, you are likely to go for the very first deal that you come across. The major downside of doing so is that it will likely not be the best deal you will get. So, keep yourself in check by remembering to keep the bigger picture of the very best deal in mind.
iii. Avoid the Airlines Websites: A lot of people just keep looking for great deals on the sites belonging to third parties without even bothering to check out what the airlines have on their sites. The fact is that some of the best deals will be found on the airlines’ own sites. You will definitely find this true of many of the big airlines in Europe and the UK. I always advise that travelers visit the airline’s site to get the update on their prices.
iv. Be Inflexible: Again one of the surest ways of avoiding a good deal. People who are inflexible want things their own way and usually pay the price for it. You simply must be prepared to adjust to meet the fluidity of the market in order get that juicy ticket to drop on your lap. If you insist on travelling on a particular day or at a particular time, there is a likelihood of running in the direction opposite from the cheap ticket and the opportunity to compare holidays.
v. Keep Making Changes in Your Departure Date: It seems airlines get really annoyed when you alter the date of your departure after purchasing your ticket and so they impose a penalty. If you are planning for cheap flights to Dubai, you could very easily rack up a bill of $75 by just making a change in your departure date.Compare flight prices, make your booking and try to stick to it.

When Malta joined the Euro on January 1 this year, the future looked rosy.

Malta relies heavily on tourism, and with the introduction of low cost flights had seen her holidays industry turnaround from one in decline to a buoyant one.

And 2008 looked bright for the hotel, restaurant and holiday related businesses on the island.

But Malta’s biggest market – the UK tourist – has been served different stories in recent months by the UK travel press, and coupled with the weakness of the British Pound against the Euro it’s possible that 2008 will not be as good a year as originally hoped at the start of the year.

First of all The Sunday Times claimed that since Malta had introduced the Euro, prices in Malta had risen by some ten per cent, and with the fall in the value of the British Pound against the Euro, 2008 holidays for British tourists would be overall seventeen per cent more expensive than holidays in Malta in 2007.

But just days later the British Post Office published the results of its own survey, and other British newspapers showed that holidays in Malta were the second cheapest for the British among all the countries that have the Euro as their currency.

Even as second cheapest holidays destination in the Eurozone, Malta will have to go somewhat to improve much on last year’s tourism numbers, which were the best for some years.

Holiday sales across countries who have the Euro as their currency are having to battle with areas that aren’t doing particularly well against British Sterling.

The traditional European holiday destinations in the Mediterranean are losing out to Florida, Mexico, and in particular Turkey which is very cheap for British tourists – 2008 should be a bumper year for holidays in Turkey.

To an extent Malta will be relying on repeat visitors this year who have enjoyed some of Malta’s many attractions for tourists.

Since Malta has nearly year-round sunshine, it is an ideal place for the avid outdoor sportsman to spend a week or two for example. Golf lovers may want to hit the greens at the Royal Malta Golf Club. Watersports like skiing, surfing, paragliding, wakeboarding and diving are popular with locals and tourists alike.

Many hotels offer watersports packages. Or, guests may prefer to simply visit a local company specializing in rentals and lessons.

Horseback riding is another Maltese favourite. For those who prefer to watch horses rather than ride them, horse races take place on a weekly basis during peak season. The island is also home to major regattas and yacht races. The Malta Marathon every February is a popular event with runners from all over the world.

Clearly, Malta has much going for it when it comes to tourist attractions, and the island will hope that cheaper destinations won’t stop people visiting this year.

The Costa del Sol is a firm British favourite for summer holidays. Not only is it graced with beautiful weather, stunning beaches and great cultural history, but it is also just a short two and a half hour flight from the UK, making it a convenient and captivating place to go on holiday.

Malaga Airport is the gateway to the Costa del Sol, with beautiful resorts in Marbella, Torremolinos and Cadiz. Getting yourself to a delightful holiday in the Costa del Sol therefore will usually involve booking cheap flights to Malaga.

In this age of consumer choice, there are more companies vying to sell you flights to Malaga than you could possibly imagine. Finding the cheapest flights is the key to a successful holiday on the Costa, and this article will provide you with the tips and hints you need to find the best deals on flights to Malaga.

The first decision you need to make is when you want to take your holiday, as this will influence when and where you buy your flights to Malaga. Summer season during the school holidays is when holidays to the Costa are most in demand, so if you can possibly avoid this time to take your holiday, you’ll undoubtedly get cheaper flights to Malaga.

If you have kids of your own and are taking a family holiday to the Costa del Sol then you are more restricted in your choices. In this case, it is best to book your flights as early in advance as you can. With such high demand over the summer period, hanging on for last minute flights is simply not a smart idea as availability is likely to be extremely limited.

If you are more flexible with your holiday plans, then looking to catch a late deal is more preferable. Remember that flights to Malaga are also popular in the winter for travellers looking to escape the wet and windy British weather, so targeting October is one of the best times to strike for bargains out of season.

Look for flights to Malaga that fly out midweek – Tuesdays and Wednesdays are always the slowest periods in the airport week – and flights departing either very early in the morning or late at night will attract much lower fares. You can also save yourself a small fortune by restricting your luggage to one small bag. Not having to check-in luggage at the airport will save you exorbitant baggage handling fees, which can very quickly make your cheap flight very expensive indeed.
